A prayer of Rabinder Nath Tagore was said by MinHee Hong after which the school choir sang a bhajan - Vashno Janato”It was followed by a speech by Maureen ,who gave the African perspective of Gandhi Ji’s life in South Africa and his fight for their cause, while Mahatma’s Indian perspective about his non-violence struggle for Indian independence was given by Aditi Gupta and Sanobar.A documentary showing Gandhi Ji’s famous “Dandi March” and excerpts from his speeches in Africa was also showcased.Mrs.Neeta Bali, at the end shared it with all present the importance of Gandhi Ji’s thought “Be the change you want to see in the world”. |
GANDHI JAYANTI SPECIAL ASSEMBLY was held on 30th September 2011 conducted by grade XI G students at GDGoenka World School, Sohna. The assembly started with Mrs.Neeta Bali,the Head of School G.D.Goenka,along with some students lighting the ceremonial lamp and floral tribute to the father of our nation the “Mahatma”.
