Three students of G D Goenka World School participated in “YES “ Workshop, exhibiting a strong sense of social commitment. These students of grade 11 attended the workshop with Mr. Sandeep Dutt , formerly Director IAYP( Duke of Edinburgh Programme) for the IAYP volunteers from G D Goenka World School. The students, Surya Pahal, Teja and NIrvan were lauded for their commitment.

GDGWS students participated in Bro Mahony Inter school MSM soccer Tournament on August 16th- 21st, 2012.While Junior School GDGWS team lost by 2-0 to St. Columbus School, Junior School GDGWS team stormed into the semifinal after defeating Venkateshwar International School ,Dwarka with a Final Score of 4-3. Senior School Team from GDGWS lost by 2-1 against Vasant Valley School Vasant Kunj. However, Junior School GDGWS team won by 5-0 against Mont Fort while, Senior School GDGWS team won by 1-0 against St,Joseph Academy Dehradun.

Social Sciences Week at GD Goenka World School |

The school reopened with the celebrationof the social science week which depicted various social issues. A group of students from the IGCSE, under the guidance of Mr.Shailey Valecha, gave a presentation on the ‘Recent Power Cut across North India' ,Northern Grid Failure issue, which was one of the biggest electricity crisis in the history of India. The presentation was indeed very comprehensive and was presented by Divij Kholsa, Zaigam Butt and Abhinav Singh of Grade 10. |

GD Goenka World School celebrated the 65th Independence Day of India, along with the Korean Independence Day, on the 14th of August, 2012. The school principal, Mrs. Neeta Bali, hoisted the National Flag. The hoisting of the flag was followed by the National Anthems of the respective nations and the releasing of the tricolour balloons.

The Goenkan students celebrated Janmashtmi on 9thAugust, 2012 with great enthusiasm and vigor. The special assembly was conducted to mark the occasion. It started with an informative presentation about how Janamashtmi is celebrated all over the country . This was accompanied by ananimated movie which explained the story behind the celebration of this festival. |

On the morning of August 11, 2012, 53 adventurous boarders went for a trek to the Aravalli ranges . According to the boarders, it was a great experience, With friends walking along it could never get any better. “We had so much fun from dodging from the thorns, and discovering the school’s beauty from such height was just too amazing” is what some of the boarders say.

For the dancer there is no outside. Nothing exists beyond the system she sets up by her acts. One is reminded of sleep-an artificial somnambulism, a group of sensations which make themselves a dwelling place where certain muscular themes follow one another in an order which creates a special kind of time that is absolutely its own. That's exactly what the Goenkan Boarders did as they grooved to the tunes of great music in their Fun filled dance Party on Friday the 10th of August…..

On August 4th, 2012 our school welcomed 55 new boarders. Our Counseling Department headed by Mrs. Ritu Dhingra organized a fun-filled ice-breaking session for our new entrants. The purpose was to help them get to know each other, forge new friendships and begin their boarding life with a bang!

A workshop on ‘Managing Stress’ was conducted by Ms. Priyanka Rawlley on the 3rd of August 2012. This workshop was for the benefit of all the teaching staff members of G.D.Goenka World School. The session began with the revival of childhood memories. The participants were made to run around in the hall to energize themselves and charge the atmosphere with zeal and vigor.
