As part of their PYP Exhibition Unit, Breaking down Barriers, Grade 5 organized a walkathon on Monday 18th February 2013. All PYP students (from Nursery to Grade 5), their teachers and some Japanese exchange students participated in an energetic walk. The walkathon was held to raise awareness of the rights available for people with special needs and promoting sensitivity towards them, with an aim to creating an inclusive society. The students carried posters, wore badges and sang as they walked around the field. |

Three boys from DP Year 1 (Yash, Ananya & Surya) organized an Inter Section Board Making Competition for the Middle School students as a precursor to the World Water Day.
Separate topics related to water issues were given to each class of MSP with a few creating awareness interaction sessions conducted by these senior boys. The Boards were judged on seven assessment features by the school Principal, Vice Principal and the Director Admissions. |

On February 16 , 2013 , an IGCSE orientation was conducted at GDGWS.37 parents attended this orientation and following were the highlights of the orientation: Each parent was given a subject choice form. A short movie was played , which was approximately of 7 to 10 minute duration in which grade IX and X students shared their learning experiences in IGCSE. The beauty of this movie is that we have tried to interview all students with different Nationalities . This was a great learning experience for our IGCSE students. |

South Asian International Baccalaureate Schools Association (SAIBSA) held a confluence or more than 150 IBDP teachers at GD Goenka World School Sohna. Around 15 prominent schools were present on February 2. The exemplary performance of the IB-DP students, Astha Shukla and Sayesha Khanna was applauded and duly recognized by the school management in a special assembly on February 11, 2013 as GDGWS IB-DP toppers-2010-2012 . Sayesha Khanna was felicitated by the school principal, Mrs. Neeta Bali, who in her speech congratulated the students and inspired the others to follow their dreams. For Astha Shukla, cheque was presented to her mother, Ms. Shuchi Shukla as Astha is currently pursuing Bio-medical Engineering Programme at University of Pennsylvania. |

Dhruv Tikekar of grade 12 emerged a winner as his essay featured amongst the best entries along with three students from other schools . |

Shishir Sharma ,a well known actor who is presently acting in the hit serial Buddy Project where he plays the character of “Ramanujam” — the principal of Royal Academy. aired on Channel V, visited the school on 1st Of Feburary,2013. Besides serial he has also done few movies as Dhund: The Fog, Om Jai Jagadish and Danger. Sarkar Raj, Qurbaan and Fanaa. After he met with the Head of School, Mrs. Neeta Bali, there was an interactive session with the IBDP students who interviewed him and asked him questions pertaining to his profession as an actor and as an entrepreneur. |
