Two teachers of Oban High School, Scotland visited G.D.Goenka World School from April 8th-10th, 2013 to develop partnership on ‘Learn to preserve-endangered species’. Students have already researched and shared information on endangered species of India and Scotland. The students of G.D. Goenka World School declared the week as ‘Animal Awareness Action Week’ and presented excellent assemblies and exhibition portraying various issues related to endangered animals of India. |

Announcing the “Where We’re From” Project Winners |

Last month, UClass partnered with SchoolTube to host the “Where We’re From” Project: an opportunity for classrooms all over the world to give virtual tours of their communities, then comment on each other’s work and build new global pen pal relationships. We received submissions ranging from videos to art projects from five continents.

GDGWS Students Win “WE ARE FROM PROJECT” on U Class |

GDGWS FOURTH graders participated in WE ARE FROM PROJECT on U CLASS. Schools from India, Denmark, Italy, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom and the United States had signed up to participate in the UClass "Where We're From" project, and we are alone from India. The students won this contest,and the winning classroom will be featured on the U Class homepage for a month and will receive a class set of U Class prizes. Class projects were judged on creativity and thoughtfulness as well as their comments on other class' projects. |

GD Goenka World School, Sohna hosts the annual day on March 17, students from the Primary Years Programme gathered at The Epicentre in Sohna. Parents and distinguished guests were treated to two mesmerising shows, each showcasing vibrant tapestry of talent, and an extraordinary extravaganza of dance, music and drama.

At GD Goenka World School, Sohna, we introduced the Award about two years ago, hoping to engage our students in meaningful activities which would help them channelize their energies in a creative manner and there has been no looking back, with more and more students jumping on the bandwagon.

Hargun Sangha of year 1 IB-DP participated in a 200 m, backstroke swimming championship at state level (Punjab) and triumphed , winning a silver medal, which has helped her qualify for the Nationals in swimming in 200 m, backstroke. Hargun has also secured the 3rd position in the district level (Jalandhar) table tennis championship. |

GDGWS Athletic Meet 2012-13 |

GDGWS conducted its Annual Athletic meet 2012-13 for various categories separately. The occasion was an opportunity for the students to showcase physical skills and discipline through various track and field events aiming at instilling in our students the true spirit of sportsmanship, which traverses beyond their excellence on the field and permeates into their very essence of life and their attitude towards it. After a month long practice for the basic skills ,they geared themselves for trials and finals. The various events of this Athletic Meet were scheduled meticulously and programmed very well for four days. |

GDGWS students make a mark at Essay Writing Competition |

It was an event by Shri Ram Chandra Mission in collaboration with the UN Information Center, India and Bhutan. The event was an all India Essay writing competition. The topic given to the 9th -12th Grade was "Begin to be now what you will be here after." Some of the best schools of Delhi and NCR participated in the event and it is a matter of great pride that two of our students Aditi Gupta and Apoorva Jalan of grade-12th were awarded the certificate of Merit by the distinguished director of the UN Information Center, India and Bhutan, Mrs. Kiran Mehra kerpelman. |

On Saturday 23rd February, parents and teachers were invited to the PYP Exhibition, an event organized by the students of Grade 5 as a culmination of the PYP programme. The Exhibition was based on the unit of inquiry, ‘Breaking Down Barriers’, under the transdisciplinary theme, ‘Sharing the Planet’. Grade 5 students were exhibiting their learning on the various rights available for people with special needs and promoting sensitivity towards them, with an aim to creating an inclusive society. |
